In honour of Africa Month, Museum Day and official Afrikaans, everyone receives free admission to the Afrikaans Language Monument AND Language Museum on 18 and 25 May. On 21 May there is free admission to the Language Museum, but only with prior reservation. The days include free riel dances and marimba music, so this is the perfect opportunity to visit the monument and museum if you have not been there in a while. And to have a picnic or support the ATM Koffiehuis. Afrikaans became an official language on 8 May 1925 and 18 May is International Museum Day.
