In 2020 the Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument (ATM) celebrates its 45th anniversary. Thanks to hundreds of years of creative work, we are delighted today to not only see a unique institution in honour of Africa’s youngest language, Afrikaans, which was inaugurated in 1975, but that this treasure lives on by embracing new developments. The ATM will make a 2020 a memorable year, with numerous additional activities and celebrations celebrating the rich diversity of Afrikaans’s roots and contemporary expressions.
