‘n Nuwe koffiewinkel, ATM Koffiehuis, is sedert Januarie 2022 oop – 082 216 2510 of mz@colegson.co.za.

NO MASK, NO ENTRY

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture  has given permission to the Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument to reopen to the public from 1 October 2020. Until further notice the government protocols, such as measuring visitors’ temperatures, wearing masks and maintaining physical distances, will apply at the monument and in the museum. A basic questionnaire will have to be answered, but visitors who want to save time can download it here, complete it and bring it along. We do this for the sake of the health and safety of visitors, employees and the surrounding communities.

The Taalmonument is open every day from 08:00 to 16:45 – the last entrance is at 16:15. No guided tours will be offered, but visitors can read the information brochures or make use of the comprehensive audio guides (available in six languages) for free. They will be disinfected regularly and thoroughly.
The longer opening hours that usually apply in the summer will not be able to happen for the time being, but see our website and FB page regarding our 2021/2022 summer programme that includes picnic concerts.
A new coffee shop, ATM Koffiehuis,  has opened in January 2022 – 082 216 2510 or mz@colegson.co.za. Visitors can support them or bring their own picnics and drinks.

The Taalmuseum in the centre of town is open on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:45 – advance booking is essential if more than 10 people want to visit it at a time.
