The DAK-Netwerk – recently set up to provide a structural foundation for the development of previously disadvantaged Afrikaans communities – held a highly successful conference in Cape Town this past weekend. DAK is named after three Khoisan icons – Doman, Autshomao and Krotoa – and also uses three pillars – identity, social empowerment and economic empowerment – to give a platform and voice to the broader Afrikaans-speaking community. Some of the speakers’ very interesting presentations on the truth about Afrikaans as well as reconciliation are available here on the ATM website.
